Evan Parandes


Bio: Evan began drumming in the school orchestra and marching band. Starting at age 14 he was playing Greek restaurants, night clubs, weddings and food festivals in the Bay Area with his father- bouzouki artist Peter Parandes. In the early 90s he was the tour drummer for Billboard charting Cause and Effect. Evan has also performed with: Ukulele artist Dominic Pieranunzio, Legendary guitarist Ralph E. Hammer (of Stevie Wonder, Joe Cocker, Etta James, The O’Jays), Jessica Malone, Billy Raney (of Frank Hannon Band, Soul Taco, Prairie City), Julian Roy, Ukulenny, Craig Chee & Sarah Maisel, Threshing Floor, Neo Kyma, Orpheus Sounds, Khashmir, and Giannis Stamatiou


Musical Training: Studied drums & percussion with Jose Montaña, Edgardo Cambon (Candela, Chucho Valdez), Merl Corbett, Tony Dey (from Linda Ronstadt and Van Morrison), Michael Lawson, and Steve Stizzo (from Mumbo Gumbo)


Styles: Pop, Rock, R&B, Funk, Soul, Blues, Reggae, Folk, Latin, Jazz, Gospel, Orchestral and Marching Band Teaching Techniques: Drum Rudiments, playing with a click track/metronome, reading and writing drum notation, groove and improvisation. Moeller technique.
